Presentation Title: The changing face of Queen's Residences - more than a place to live

Speaker: Chauncey Kennedy, Queen's University, Manager, Residence Life

Chauncey Kennedy has a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie, and is currently a Master of Education student at Queen’s. He is father of two beautiful children, Adelaide (3 ½) and Parker (17 mos.), and husband to an amazing partner, Dawn. Chauncey worked for four years in the Queen’s Office of Advancement before joining Residence Life in 2010. With more than 10 years of Residence Life experience as a student and professional at two universities, Chauncey leads a team of seven full-time, live-in professionals and 114 Residence Dons across 15 buildings, housing more than 3800 students.

Chauncey will discuss the evolution of Residence Life at Queen’s and across the country. The work of Residence Life has changed from the simple provision of a place to sleep and study to a multi-faceted approach to provide housing and support of students and the broader learning environment on campus.
